DAZN ACCELERATES GLOBAL EXPANSION AS SPAIN BECOMES EIGHTH LIVE MARKET

MADRID, 27 February 2019 – DAZN, the first global pure-sport live and on-demand streaming service, has gone live in Spain, bringing affordable, accessible sport to fans.

As announced in a press conference in Madrid today, DAZN is available in Spain for just €4.99 per month, with the first month free and no long-term contract. The platform shows multiple live events at any one time, on nearly every device, including TVs, tablets, phones, PCs and games consoles. It’s a new, flexible way to watch every single moment, anywhere, free from expensive and lengthy pay TV contracts.

Launching in Spain is the next step in the global expansion of DAZN, now available in eight countries after launching in Japan, Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2016, Canada in 2017 and Italy and the U.S. in 2018. The service is currently streaming on social media in Brazil before launching officially in the coming months.

A line-up of exclusive premium sport content was announced for the market, including;

  • Key properties: MotoGP, Moto 2 and Moto3 (2019-2022), Turkish Airlines EuroLeague (2019/20-2022/23), 7Days EuroCup and FIBA Basketball World Cup (non-exclusive), Premier League (2019/20 to 2021/22), J. League
  • Global football: FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, EFL Championship, League One, League Two.
  • Motorsports: WRC, World SBK, MotoE World Cup
  • Fights sports/Boxing: UFC, Golden Boy, Matchroom Boxing USA / UK, Bellator
  • Other sports: PDC Darts

Superstar Neymar Jr has joined DAZN as a global brand ambassador in a multi-year agreement, along with legendary football manager Jose Mourinho, who will provide punditry and promotional duties in 2019. Neymar Jr, and Mourinho join DAZN’s A-grade ambassador line up of Cristiano Ronaldo Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez and Marc Márquez as it expands around the world, and prepares to launch in Brazil.

Neymar Jr said: “Growing up in Brazil instils a love of sports, especially football. Brazilians rally behind the teams and athletes they love. I think DAZN has the same type of passion towards sports and wanting to make it as easy and affordable as possible for people to enjoy. As well as the best live and on-demand sport, DAZN has commissioned DAZN Original “In Our Blood”. The 3×30 minute series celebrates the tradition of great Spanish MotoGP riders and mark the beginning of the new MotoGP season. The series explores Spain’s passion for MotoGP through the generations, by telling the stories of Spanish MotoGP World Champions Àlex Crivillé, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Márquez.
