25TH AUGUST, 2017

The eyes of the world will be on Las Vegas this weekend as one of the most hotly anticipated boxing fights of all time takes place between the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC poster boy Conor McGregor. The eagerly awaited bout between the two fighters will be the highest grossing fight of all time, and you can watch all the build-up and the main event live on DAZN in Germany, Austria and Japan.

DAZN has secured the exclusive rights to broadcast all the very latest from the T-Mobile Arena as the confident Irishman McGregor attempts to become the first man to ever defeat Mayweather in a boxing ring and leave Floyd’s unbeaten record in tatters.

The American currently has a staggering 49 victories from 49 fights, and despite McGregor’s strong record in UFC’s Octagon, entering the boxing ring is a completely different battle altogether for the man that calls himself “The Notorious.” So, how is DAZN preparing for one of the biggest fights in the history of combat sport? Well, on top of the main event, we will also be exclusively broadcasting all of the pre fight build-up to the fight, with footage from the final official press conferences, the weigh-in and the full undercard live from Las Vegas. Our content team has been working hard to produce some really cool and innovative features to build excitement for the fight, one of which you can view below.

As part of our exclusive offering in Germany and Austria, we are delighted to say that we will have none other than boxing legend Wladimir Klitschko offering his expert opinion on commentary throughout the fight. Wladimir has been working with DAZN in the lead-up to the fight as part of #DAZNfightclub. Episode 1 featured a ‘School of Klitschko’ feature with Bayern Munich and Austrian footballer David Alaba, who is an incredibly keen boxing fan. Klitschko will be analysing how he feels both boxers can win the fight, as well as recording a post-fight analysis to be released the following day. We are absolutely thrilled to have Wladimir on board for the fight!

Similarly, in Japan, we have a whole host of exciting names working with DAZN on this huge event. Firstly, we welcome famous comedian Chihara Junior to commentate on the fight. Chihara is a massive boxing fan and viewers can expect a humorous if somewhat slightly less conventional style of commentary. Joining Chihara will be Japanese boxer Ryota Murata, who will be providing in depth boxing analysis. Murata is well known on the boxing circuit, having announced himself to the world of boxing with a brilliant gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in London! You can see Murata giving his views on the fight in the video below.

As the excitement builds up to the main event this weekend, fans are urged to sign up sooner rather than later to avoid any disappointment!
