MARCH 21, 2017
The Ultimate Fighting Championship hosted its annual London showpiece at The O2 Arena on Saturday for Fight Night 107, and some of our team were lucky enough to join the animated crowd to enjoy all of the action!
On the night, our team witnessed a great evening of action with Englishman Jimi Manuwa knocking out American Corey Anderson in the night’s main event, much to the adulation of the home crowd. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the same success for Londoner Brad Pickett in his retirement bout as he was beaten by Colombian Marlon Vera in the final round. Elsewhere, there were wins for Gunnar Neilson and Arnold Allen.
The event, the first in the UFC’s European calendar of 2017, attracted over 15,000 spectators who were treated to an action-packed evening of Mixed Martial Arts. The event was shown live on DAZN in Japan as part of our on-going partnership with the UFC, following on from the New York event featuring Japanese fighter Ulka Sasaki.
UFC’s popularity has soared in recent years, and it has become one of the most heavily viewed sports in Japan as a result of the success, in particular of Sasaki. The charismatic Japanese fighter has a fantastic record and his successes have tied in with the increased popularity in UFC. You can watch his upcoming fights, as well as any other UFC content live on DAZN in Japan.
