In cased you missed it, Super Bowl LI was something of a special one. Down 28-9 in the 3rd quarter and with only 15 minutes left to play, the New England Patriots fought back against the Atlanta Falcons to triumphantly take the title in what will go down as one of the greatest Super Bowl finals in history. And DAZN was there to witness it all.

In the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl our team embarked on a campaign to put fans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the heart of our decision-making. Steered by our social media channels we asked American Football fans if they’d rather watch the game with German commentary or with original US commentary. The result: original US commentary.

Born from this was our “100% American” campaign showing off our great US sport offering in those territories – NFL, NBA and NHL – and lead by our Super Bowl activity.

The campaign was packed with standout content, including videos featuring well-known influencers such as Ice-T and Evil Jared from the Bloodhound Gang, as well as excited fans in the build-up to the game. And our team were on the ground at the NRG Stadium in Texas to bring it all together.

Back in Europe we also teamed up with the Vienna Vikings and headed over to Austria for their biggest ever Super Bowl party! Over 2,000 guests enjoyed an evening of all things American to complement their viewing of the Super Bowl. There was even a replica trophy on-site that fans could have their photo with.

And if the whole night was a bit too much for fans, then Evil Jared gave them an excuse to skip work the next day!
